I had another adapter (hdmi/vga to displayport), connected my monitor to it, and the very same custom resolutions just worked! I tried changing settings (custom resolutions) at SwitchResX, and always got back a "Not activated - invalid?" message back.Īfter days, I read some comment, regarding trying to connect directly to thunderbolt/displayport.

In my case, my LG 29UM68-P worked connected to a j5 create hub, but one day it just stopped working.

After disabling SIP, and going through the other steps on here, I realized that the actual issue was that my mid-2012 MacBook Pro connected to an LG 34UM68-P 34-Inch 21:9 UltraWide via Mini DisplayPort to HDMI didn't actually support 2560 X 1080 60Hz. I started having my issue after upgrading to Mojave, and I've had black banding on the side of my monitor for like two weeks now. Just fixed my issue thanks to some of the help I found on here in conjunction with this page of the FAQs from SwitchResX. Has anyone seen anything similar? Any help is appreciated. I’ve scoured different forums to no avail. I can then plug it back into the adapter to take advantage of the SwitchResX resolution for 4K. I then have to unplug the HDMI cable from the adapter and plug it directly into the Mac Mini which then displays the Mac’s desktop. I can get the highest resolution and frame rate combination to work through SwitchResX, but as soon as I reboot the Mac Mini, after the Apple logo loading bar screen passes, the screen flickers and flashes green. I bought a Club 3D mini DP to HDMI adapter and downloaded/bought SwitchResX to unlock and utilize the higher resolutions and refresh rates.

Does anyone know how to determine what pixel clock settings correspond to one's TV? My tv is an LG 43UJ6300 4K LED TV. I suspect that this setting (pixel clock) is what's keeping my LG 4K TV from displaying correctly.
